Retro diner experience
BIG4 parks are filled with innovative features, and at this Whitsundays accommodation offering you can dine out – or in –on a novel experience.
Say hello to dining with a difference when you step inside George’s Diner at BIG4 Conway Beach Tourist Park!
Why have your burgs and shakes in a standard setting when a 50s retro diner is waiting to serve you?!
We sat down with the park managers for a Q&A to learn more about this unique in-park eatery.
Tell us about George’s Diner?
George’s is an American-themed diner located within our park, so your next meal is never far away. We serve a range of delicious meals, including burgers, hot dogs, fish and chips and milkshakes, spiders etc. We even play classic hits from Elvis to set the mood for guests from the moment they step inside.
Where did the inspiration come from?
The previous park owner had a love for hot rods, and so George’s Diner has been operating for around four years. When we purchased the park, we kept the restaurant running and improved the Diner even more. This includes a more extensive menu. George’s is also licensed and has a small kiosk.
What is a typical guest reaction?
The first words we often hear are, “Wow! Fantastic!”. After that, customers are always quick to pull out their cameras and start taking snaps (who can blame them!). Guests seem to love the atmosphere and what we have to offer on the menu.
When is George’s open?
9am-2.30pm every day, so guests have plenty of opportunity to visit during their stay at the park.
What else is there to do at BIG4 Conway Beach?
It's pizza night every Saturday and we also run 'rock and roll' nights with various bands, bingo and raffle nights, fishing competitions, Christmas in July, kids' activities, and much more.
There's plenty to keep guests entertained, but our biggest attraction, diner aside, is the Conway Express train that runs twice daily.
