Guildford Heritage Walk Trails
Galleries, Museums and Collections
Guildford, added to the State’s Register of Heritage Places, offers village charm, colonial architecture, antique and home shopping, and plenty of places to eat and drink, including beautifully
restored historic pubs.
Established on what's virtually an island encircled by the Swan and Helena Rivers, this island village is ideally suited to explore on foot. Four self-guided heritage walk trails have been created so visitors can discover the stories of the historic buildings and lively characters.
The Town Walk (1800 metres, 40-60 minutes) includes the majestic Guildford Hotel and charming James Street antique and shopping precinct.
The River Ramble (1500 metres, 30-50 minutes) takes you past the historic Rose and Crown Hotel, Padbury's Store precinct, and Barker's Bridge on the banks of the Swan River.
On The Stirling Square Circuit (450 metres, 20 minutes) enjoy towering sugar gums, the war memorial, the majestic 10th Light Horse Statue, St Matthews Church, and the playground.
The Captain Stirling Walk (2,250 metres, 60-75 minutes) takes you past beautiful Guildford Grammar Chapel and its avenue of plane trees.
Each trail starts and finishes at the Guildford Courthouse (Swan Valley Visitor Centre).
