Exmouth Wild Prawn Festival

Festivals and Celebrations

The Exmouth Wild Prawn Festival is a four-day coastal celebration on the World Heritage–listed Ningaloo Coast, showcasing one of Western Australia's most iconic and sustainably harvested seafoods — the Exmouth Wild Caught Prawn. The festival marks the start of the prawning season and brings together exceptional food experiences, live entertainment, and the vibrant spirit of Exmouth.

The festival opens with the Welcome to the Fleet, an exclusive moment as local trawlers return to harbour with the first catch of the season. On Friday evening, guests can enjoy the Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Feast — a premium beachfront dining experience featuring six prawn-led dishes paired with curated beverages and live music by Toby Beard.

Saturday's Wharf Celebration transforms the Exmouth Commercial Wharf into a lively twilight event with trawler tours, buckets of freshly cooked prawns, local brewers and distillers, food trucks, market stalls and main-stage entertainment. On Sunday, visitors can continue the festivities at Whalebone Brewing Company and Bullara Station, each hosting unique prawn-inspired culinary events.

Running across the school holidays, the Prawn Trail sees local eateries present signature dishes that celebrate the flavour, provenance and sustainability of Exmouth Wild Caught Prawns.

Perfect for food lovers, families and coastal explorers, the Exmouth Wild Prawn Festival offers an unforgettable taste of Ningaloo's culture, seafood and community.
