The Fascine is a picturesque bay in Carnarvon favoured by locals and popular with visitors. Take a gentle stroll along the boardwalk on the oceanfront to admire the coconut and cotton palms that line the path.
Stop for a picnic on the grass and stay until sunset where you will witness a stunning Western Australian sunset. Take a swim in the ocean, build sandcastles on the pristine sandy beach or throw out a fishing line and try and catch the evening meal.
With an interesting history and plenty of historical buildings, a walk around Olivia Terrace and the other back streets near The Fascine will introduce you to a variety of graceful heritage-listed buildings.
The Fascine is in Carnarvon, a 9.5-hour drive north of Perth. Whilst in the area, be sure to visit the Carnarvon Heritage Precinct. Spend some time walking down the longest jetty in the state’s north and visit the Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage Museum and the Railway Museum.
