Delicious Healthy Holidays
Holidays are all about indulging and the Mornington Peninsula is known for its great local produce, quality restaurants, and picturesque wineries. But if you already had a little bit too much of the good stuff over Easter and the New Year’s Resolutions seem like faded memories, we have good news for you… You can still enjoy all that our amazing region has to offer, while staying healthy!
Eating healthy while on holidays can be a challenge for the best of us. Luckily, there are some simple tricks to keep your Healthy Holiday on track. Check out BIG4 Holiday Parks’ 5 Great Tips for Healthy and Simple Holiday Cooking.
If you want to take a break from cooking (treat yo’self!), there are plenty of healthy cafes and restaurants nearby. Here are some of our favourites:
Frankston
- Nature Café Bar
- 6 Nutrition
- The Dharma Hub
- New Harvest Organic Greengrocer
Mornington Peninsula
- The Winery Cow in Mornington
- Oh My Juice in Dromana
- Milkbar & Co in Mount Martha
- Bathhouse Café in Rye
- Soul Press in Aspendale and Chelsea
What about the wine, you ask? Relax, research shows that a glass of red wine now and then can actually be good for you. The tannins and ellagic acid in red wine can for example protect against heart disease as well as slow the growth of fat cells. We’ll drink to that!
A Healthy Holidays isn’t complete without a bit of exercise and fresh air. As luck would have it, there’s plenty to see and do while staying with us. Just check out some of our favourite outdoor activities.
