Nature & Parks

Richmond is one of Hobart's most popular tourist destinations, located 20 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from our Tourist Park. It is famous for its Georgian architecture linking it back to the 1820's.
Richmond is located in the heart of the Coal River Valley. Make a day of it by visiting the many farms and wineries in this region, including but not limited to; Coal River Farm, Frogmore Creek, Pooley Wines, Riversdale Estate and Puddleduck Vineyard.

Right in the heart of Richmond things to see in do include visiting Australia's only model of one of our early convict-built towns (Hobart), both educational and informative. Visiting the Richmond Gaol and Historic Site offering convict history. Enjoying lollies, chocolates or some ice cream at the famous Richmond Lolly Shop, known as Sweets and Treats. Alternatively, grabbing something to eat from the Richmond Bakery and enjoying it down by the riverbank to see the Georgian built world famous bridge and don't forget to grab some bread to feed the ducks!

Fancy hand picking your own berries and fruit? Pay a visit to Littlewood Berry Farm or the Coal River Farm for a firsthand experience in picking your own produce.  Looking for a weird one-of-a-kind kids adventure, visit the Pooseum, where talking about poo is not taboo. Here you will enjoy learning about poo more than you ever thought possible.
