Changes & cancellations

Cancellations must be provided in writing and emailed directly to the park.

High & Peak Seasons: Free cancellation period up to 15 days prior to arrival date. Cancellations within 14 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the total booking tariff.

Low & Shoulder Seasons: Free cancellation period up to 6 days prior to arrival date. Cancellations within 5 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the total booking tariff.

Special Offers: All special offer rates are non-refundable unless stated otherwise. 

Cancellations due to exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration.

PLEASE NOTE: Booking alterations include date changes, reduction in nights and reduction in guests. These fall under the same rule as a cancellation and must be amended prior to the free cancellation period.

Pets

Dogs are welcome on application and at Manager's discretion. Please contact us directly on 1800 069 388 to discuss your pet and travel needs. Date Restrictions DO NOT Apply.

Thank you for looking to stay at BIG4 Whitsunday Islands Holiday Park, a proud member of BIG4 Holiday Parks. We allow dogs to stay in our park under strict conditions. It is of course our intent and goal to provide you with not only a wonderful and enjoyable stay with us, but also a safe and happy one.

In order to ensure the comfort, enjoyment and safety of all of the guests staying with us, we have established a set of clear and enforceable rules to ensure that all dog owners take responsibility and will act responsibly in regards to the actions and behaviour of their dog.

We have a limited number of dog friendly accommodation options available at an additional cost

Please note, that all dogs must be pre-approved prior to making a booking. Acceptance is always at the discretion of the park manager, and such acceptance can be withdrawn at any time by the park manager at their discretion, if they believe that the acceptance of that dog to stay in the park is not in the best interests of the park. Please note, that some breeds of dogs will not be accepted. Bookings can only be made by contacting the park directly (not through a website).

A valid credit card will be held as security and the registered guest will be liable for any damages associated with the dog.

After reading this policy, we request that you, as the dog’s guardian, are required to make a commitment to the rules by signing this agreement, and as such your dog will be bound by these rules and conditions.

Please also be aware that failure to adhere to these rules, will result in you being asked to leave the park immediately without refund or recourse.

  • The dog must be leashed at all times whilst not in your van or tent or other accommodations. No exceptions. A leash must be no more than two metres in length. This includes no dog ‘runs’ to be set up.
  • The dog must be supervised at all times and never left unattended including inside a tent or van or other accommodations.
  • For health and safety reasons dogs are not allowed in any common areas of the park including: cafe, pool area, games room, camp kitchen, amenities, playground, reception or any public areas.
  • For health and safety reasons dogs must not be washed or cleaned anywhere within the park. Additionally, any dog related accessories such as dog blankets, etc. should not be washed or cleaned within the park.
  • Dog owners are 100% responsible for picking up and disposing of their dog’s or pet’s waste, in a sealed plastic bag and disposed of in rubbish bins.
  • Dog owners are personally responsible, and will be held to be so, for any and all personal injuries and/or property damage or losses in relation to any actions by, or because of, their dog and agree to pay for any claims of compensation in relation to the dog’s activities. A credit card will be stored on file for any incidentals relating to your beloved pooch.
  • The dog owner must agree that the park owner/manager reserves the right to evict any guests whose dog is deemed noisy, disruptive, aggressive, found off leash or the subject of complaints from other guests. It is the dog owner’s responsibility and the dog owner’s alone to control and manage their dog. If in the view of the park management this has not happened to an acceptable level the owner and the dog may be evicted from the park, without prior warning, immediately at the manager’s discretion.
  • The dog owner must contact BIG4 Whitsunday Islands Holiday Park directly in advance of arrival to apply to have their dog accepted into the Park. Upon arrival it is at the managers’ discretion as to whether to accept the dog in the park. Upon acceptance by the park manager the dog owner must then agree to and sign the standard “BIG4 Dog Policy Dog Owner Agreement’ document. It will not be possible under such rules to book with a dog on BIG4.com.au.
  • We accept dogs only - all other pets are prohibited.

Deposits & payments

High & Peak Seasons: A deposit of 25% of the total booking tariff is payable at time of booking to confirm the reservation. Final balance is payable 14 days, prior to the arrival date. Please note: All one-night bookings require full payment at the time of booking.

Low & Shoulder Seasons: A deposit equivalent to the first night’s booking tariff is payable at time of booking to confirm the reservation. Final balance is payable 5 days, prior to the arrival date. Please note: All one-night bookings require full payment at the time of booking.

Special Offers: A deposit of 100% of the total booking tariff is required to confirm the reservation.

Fees

Registered guests are allowed to have visitors visit them at their accommodation from 8am and must depart by 9pm. Visitors must park at the front of the park and call into reception to let managers know who they will be visiting and the duration of the visit. If your visitor intends to use the pool and children’s play equipment a daily fee of $5 per person will apply.

What you need to know

TERMS & CONDITIONS
All bookings are accepted on the basis that you have read, understood, and agree to abide, and be bound, by the following Terms & Conditions and House Rules. On check-in, you may also be required to verify your identity with photographic identification. Should you choose not to proceed with this reservation, you are required to advise us within 24hrs of making your booking for a refund of all monies paid.

  1. Premises are let for short term/ holiday purposes only for the agreed period and at the agreed nightly or weekly rate subject to subsequent change as agreed by the parties.
  2. The premises are available from 2.00pm and generally NOT BEFORE on the day of arrival and are to be vacated at 10.00am SHARP on the day of departure. The purpose of these strict times is to allow the necessary time to clean the premises. Please consider your fellow incoming/outgoing holiday occupants. We may consider requests for early arrival or late checkout if available. (ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES WILL VARY PER PROPERTY)
  3. Pets are only allowed in certain areas of the park, and all accommodation options are smoke free only. Evidence of smoking or pets without approval will give rise to a cleaning fee of $200 charged against your credit card or payable in cash at our option. 
  4. The maximum number of persons permitted to occupy the booked premises will form part of the booking contract and will be nominated when you make your booking. Persons found occupying the premises over and above the number on the booking may give rise to an additional fee or early termination for breach.
  5. All damage, breakages, or losses to the property and/or furniture/furnishings are to be reported to the reception and paid for immediately. All furnishings and equipment must be left in the premises as originally found. Damage not paid for will be charged to your card without notice.
  6. Pre-Authorisation/Security Deposit (Bond) for accommodation: A valid Visa or MasterCard is required on check-in. A pre-authorised payment may be taken from your card and held as a security deposit for damages, excessive cleaning, or extra charges. The pre-authorisation/security bond varies depending on accommodation type booked. Bonds may apply on hired items. All security deposits will be refundable upon check-out after an inspection has been carried out, less any additional charges. Depending on your bank and processing times, it may take a few days for the security deposit to return to your card.
  7. All accommodation is for short term/ holiday purposes only. Functions and parties on the premises are strictly not allowed. We reserve the right to terminate your occupancy immediately if you cause damage, a nuisance or annoyance to neighbours.
  8. Unless stated within the property description, all premises (other than camping and caravan sites) are self-contained and generally includes linen for the main bedroom, some accommodation options do not include linen. Additional linen is available for hire.
  9. No responsibility is taken for guests' personal property left on the premises. A handling fee of $15.00 plus postage will be charged when guests request lost property to be returned by post.
  10. With telephone or postal bookings, any printed, written, or verbal description of the premises by the agent or an employee is made in good faith. No responsibility for discrepancies will be accepted. Please choose your property carefully using the information provided on our comprehensive websites. There is no provision to change properties on your arrival if you are unhappy with your choice.
  11. Guests are responsible for the safekeeping and replacement of any accommodation keys. Guests requiring a key from the park manager after office hours will be charged a service fee of $55.00.
  12. Parking is generally available for one vehicle only unless prior arrangements have been made. Please Park in your designated spot. Extra vehicles, boats, etc may be accommodated elsewhere and may incur a fee.
  13. No refunds or credits for early departures.
  14. Management wishes to warn guests and other persons who engage in recreational activity, with the holiday park, that the pursuit of such activities may result in harm or personal injury. All persons who engage in a recreational activity do so at their own risk.
  15. Guests agree to abide by any House Rules posted in any cabin, camp kitchen or recreational area and must supervise and ensure their children comply with such rules.
  16. Any payments made by card (in park) may be subject to a credit card surcharge of up to 1.5%.

BIG4 Holiday Parks of Australia Pty Ltd is not the owner of any particular BIG4 Holiday Park or park listed on BIG4.com.au. BIG4 Holiday Parks facilitates this booking service and is not responsible for the provision of services, standard of facilities or payments received. All bookings are made directly with the individual owner of this BIG4.com.au park and therefore BIG4 Holiday Parks will not accept any claims for refunds or credits.
