Atherton Tablelands - State of the Art
Nature & Parks
We really want you to come and relax and enjoy all that the Tablelands has to offer, including the amazing Hou Wang Chinese Temple & Museum, owned by the National Trust of Australia Queensland!
Built in 1903 and located in the midst of the tropical lushness of the Atherton Tablelands is the last timber and tin Chinese temple in Australia, Hou Wang Chinese Temple and Museum.
The temple features a full display of cultural artefacts to engage and educate the whole family on what was once a site of social and religious significance for the region’s Chinese community.
Discover the beautifully preserved artefacts within the temple as you are guided by passionate volunteers.
Remember, as there is so much to see and do on the Tablelands, and you will want to take your time to enjoy the Temple and its surrounding gardens, you might like to stay an extra night.
We look forward to welcoming you to our piece of paradise!
