Timeless Tewantin is a friendly village in Noosa Shire located overlooking the Noosa River. It is one of the area's earliest settled towns and still is one of its three major centres today.
Tewantin Visitor Information Centre (VIC) also known as Parkyn's Hut is unique as it operates from a historic gold miners' hut, transported from Gympie in 1920 on a bullock dray.
In the postage stamp-sized unique dwelling, they still offer that same award-winning volunteer dedication with friendly and informative conversations with passionate locals who are eager to share their best tips and must-do experiences from the area.
On offer is an extensive brochure selection to spark ideas for your stay, suggested itineraries, a wide range of detailed local and district maps, and drive, walk and bike trail brochures to navigate your way around Tewantin and its surroundings.
Parkyn's Hut is also home to the Tewantin Heritage & Historical Society and a visit inside will reveal many photos and memorabilia of this historic area.
