Azure Nature Tours runs small-group guided tours from Nyanda Station, a family-owned working cattle station at the gateway to Carnarvon Gorge in Central Queensland. Join local guides Caity and Christian for a full-day walk through Carnarvon Gorge, or follow them in your own 4WD across Nyanda's private sandstone ranges, where access is by guided tour only.
You'll explore hidden gorges, spring-fed creeks and lookouts over rarely seen parts of Carnarvon National Park, and hear the stories of this country: its plants and wildlife, its people, and a rock record stretching back over 290 million years. On Nyanda you can drive into Reid's Dome, a ring of towering sandstone cliffs where the oldest rocks sit in the centre, and walk into a gorge that has stayed a family secret for generations.
Azure Nature Tours is an accredited Savannah Guides enterprise and a Queensland Country Tourism Premium Member. Groups are kept small, and tours run in the cooler months. From 2027, hands-on fossil experiences developed with palaeontologists will let you hunt for real Permian and Triassic fossils.
