Deniliquin and District Historical Society Museum
Galleries, Museums and Collections
Built in the 1880's, the building was the original home of Deniliquin Police Inspector, J. Dowling Brown, who later became Superintendent of the South West District of New South Wales. Over the years, this wonderful building fell into disrepair until rescued by the Historical Society in 1986.
Today, the building contains a fascinating collection of early photographs and items of both historical and social significance to the region. Temporary displays have also been featured that focus on specific aspects of local history.
