Bermagui Fishermen's Wharf

Shopping

The Bermagui Fishermen’s Co-operative has been selling and distributing seafood – think snapper, ling, tuna and swordfish – from the town’s wharf since 1946.

Thanks to an injection of government funds, the original co-op building was demolished and replaced with the new Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf complex, which opened in 2009. Esteemed Australian architect Philip Cox, who owns a home in the region, designed the distinctive building, which features spotted gum timber sourced from local forests.

The harbourside building is home to a collection of stores and restaurants, as well as the Shop 7 art gallery.

Drop in for ice-cream at the Bermagui Gelati Clinic; linger over a glass of wine at The Harbar; sit down to a bowl of fresh pasta at Il Passaggio; or find a perch overlooking the water at the Sun Deck.

The latter might be the ultimate Bermagui spot for breakfast and lunch, serving stand-out coffee alongside house-made breads and pastries, the catch of the day, and salads with every trimming. Everything comes with a side of divine views.
