Just a ten-minute drive south of the Batemans Bay town centre, Surf Beach is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. Grassy areas overlook the beach, making it easy to spread out a rug, relax and soak up the coastal views. The beach is patrolled during peak season, and nearby cafes, kids' play equipment, change rooms and showers make it a convenient spot for a family day out.
Surf Beach and the small cove to its south, Wimbi Beach, form part of the Munjip Trail. Park at the beach and pick up the trail at Surf Beach, then head north or south as you please. Walkers heading to Wimbi Beach are rewarded with a number of Munjip Trail installations created in collaboration with local Aboriginal artists, adding a rich cultural layer to your coastal stroll.
