Top Foodie Spots in Nambucca
Food, wine & nightlife
Where to go and what to eat in Nambucca Heads. The local's guide to coffee, breakfast spots, long lazy lunches, and fantastic pub grub.
If you are after your caffeine fix in the morning before you start the day, be sure to head to Good Time Charlie's. As the name suggests you are ensured a good time, whether it's trying their cold brew coffee, ordering a traditional skinny cap, or being a little more adventurous with their Goldilocks Smoothie. Their food menu is available all day and just saying, the Haloumi Bagel is ridiculous. That is ridiculously good.
Nambucca wouldn't really be a good Aussie beachside town if it didn't serve some pretty darn good fish and chips. Wharf Street Café has you covered with their panko crumbed whiting and crisp golden chips. Sometimes we even add a side of squid nibbles, if we’re feeling really naughty. Think salt and pepper squid but better and they come with Wharf Street’s own sweet chilli jam. It’s not only the food that’s fantastic at Wharf Street Café, the location is pretty special too. Perched on the jetty right on the Nambucca River, you’ll want to get in quick to grab one of the window tables.
A holiday is never complete without a nice cold beverage to finish off the day and The Pub with No Beer is the perfect place to sit back with a schooner and soak in the atmosphere. Locally, this institution is known as the ‘8th wonder of the world’, and promises a step back in time, plenty of local stories, some stunning countryside views as well as a trip down memory lane, with a large collection of Slim Dusty memorabilia. The pub serves over 16 types of beer on tap, plus more in the fridge, so choosing your tipple will be the hardest decision you’ll make all afternoon.
